Hipster Monsters is a series of illustrations to conceptualize the way certains factors like fashion and tendencies makes us into some kind of monsters, we thrive to wear, have and act like the ultimate being. Now, imagine if the iconic monsters of the past where to live in nowadays, they would be consumed by all these consumer factors until the point of being tamed by them.
I wanted to portrait the classic monsters of the golden age of movies like Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Wolfman, a Zombie Girl and Dracula of course, in a modern environment, as if they were hipsters, conserving their original aspects and personalities but also adopting the modern lifestyle and merging into society. Judge by yourselves and enjoy.
All the illustrations were created using charcoal pencils for then being colored in photoshop using a digital watercolor technique.
